notes on the Watersplash web Jukebox and music:
We've now got the jukebox sorted out on a regular basis now so it can both be updated as soon I get great new music in and also so that I can put up some of your playlists.

99% of the tracks come from Swell Music. They are a music promotion company in London who deal directly with the record companies when they are releasing new albums and so you get to hear them before you buy them. They let bars play the music so if you like the tracks - you can go and buy them.

1 have selected these tracks on the basis that they either are
a) excellent or
b) excellent
I've tried to give a fairly eclectic selection based on both the fact that we have
a) the acoustic nights,
b) what I know as a surfer and about the tastes of surfers and equally
c) what I know about, Watersplash music and the club.

d) that this is a family website as well as a family place

On the basis that more and more of us are using the web to find, play and buy our music I've made the jukebox play the playlisting in a random order of the track listings. I'll be updating the track listing as often as you like but essentially on a bi-weekly or monthly basis as new stock comes in. I've done it as a pop up so that you can still play the jukebox through your HI-Fi or office system whilst still doing other things on the web - so this can, should you wish, be your soundtrack.

Most of the music here is sourced as pre-release directly from the record companies to be promoted by Swell - and through them we have permission to get the music out there as it were.

As the web master I can add any tracks or create some playlist if any of the resident DJs want to put some tunes up. Equally if you have a burning desire to put some of your soundtracks up I'll do that - but you'll have to supply me with MP3 files of the music.

TRACK LISTING
Album:

The History Boys - The Original Soundtrack
(A comedy by Alan Bennet) [Korova]

TRACK 1:
New Order - Blue Monday

What can one say! - was (is?) World record holder for biggest selling 12" ever - the definitive track of the 80s early 90s pre-Madchester but without which it would never have happened.

TRACK 2:
The Smiths - This Charming Man
(New York Vocal Mix)

I've never heard this remix before this release. Again a seminal track but even longer - meaning you get to enjoy it more!

Album:
Bonobo - Days to Come [Ninja Tune]

TRACK 1:
Days to Come

cool track without being seemingly outstanding - a real grower though.

TRACK 2:
Ketto

very cool - by the beach - dreamy, trip hop (equally good in-front of the fire) very chilled.

Album:
The Glimmers - FabricLive 31 [Fabric]

The New darlings of London and playing at Fabric next week (I think!)

TRACK 1:
The League Unlimited Orchestra -
Things that dreams are made of

(Instrumental Mix)

Sometimes simple is best - this is a great example - great remix of (depending on how you view it a Classic/rubbish (delete as appropriate) track

Album:
Aim - Flight 602 [Fabric]
The New darlings of London and playing at Fabric next week (I think!)

TRACK 1:
Nightlife

see Bonobo's "Days to Come" - sounds like it shouldn't work - but does

TRACK 2:
Interview

Yes I think this is a great album!

Album:
Marc Mac presents Visioneers -
Dirty Old Mix Tape
[Fabric]
This album was released back in March 2006 but has such quality I thought if there's anyone out there who doesn't know it - have a listen - then investigate more - this is from the promo so hope it ok!

TRACK 1, 2 & 3:
Marc Mac 4, 7 & 13

a jazzy Hip Hop delight - all of them!
